Nymphs are usually difficult to see, because they are no bigger than a pinhead.

Ticks can be found throughout the Netherlands. They live in forests, dunes, heathland, sheltered meadows, parks and gardens. Especially among high grass and dead leaves. They live on pets, wild, birds and cadavers. They attach themselves to passing animals and people. Ticks become active when the temperature rises above 7 degrees Celsius. Mosquito nets

Where can I find the use-by date on a mosquito net?

The sticker on the packaging (header card) and on the lable on the net.

The date is written in English due to European legislation. For example: 202105 (2021-05) May 2021

How do I hang the nets?

All mosquito nets come with an extensive description and mounting kit.

Do I need to wash my hands after hanging the mosquito nets?

After hanging the impregnated net, we recommend washing your hands to prevent them from smelling of the active ingredient.

Which net is most suitable for me?

This depends on the conditions you will be using the net for. We recommend impregnated mosquito nets for use in the tropics. In your bedroom in the Netherlands, we recommend non-impregnated mosquito nets.

Can my child sleep under impregnated nets?

Mosquito nets are suitable for children. We recommend properly securing the mosquito net and ventilating the room by opening a window.

Why do I need to ventilate the room when using impregnated mosquito nets?

Impregnated mosquito nets may have an unpleasant smell because of the active ingredients. With prolonged use, breathing in the active ingredients may be harmful.

Can I wash my mosquito nets?

Mosquito nets may not be washed because the active ingredients can end up in the ground and wastewater and these are harmful to the environment. We recommend airing your mosquito net after use.

The Click-Away reduces itching and swelling of insect bites. This is because of the micro electro pulses the Click-Away emits, which causes a breakdown of accumulated histamine.

What causes blisters?

When the skin is constantly effected by pressure or friction, it may cause a blister. Through friction or pressure, the top layer of the skin detaches from the layer underneath. A blister will form in that spot, filled with tissue fluids. The body creates the blister in order to protect the small wound from more friction or pressure.

Why use a blister plaster?

Good blister plasters reduce the pressure and pain and can prevent an infection.

Why do you need clean drinking water?

Clean drinking water: we can’t live without. Around 75% of your body is made up of water and your organs, tissue and cells must stay hydrated. The water in your body has a cleansing function because it eliminates waste. It is therefore essential to drink pure water. So naturally, you need clean drinking water to cleanse your body.

Why do I need to filter water?

In the mountains and along river beds, animals defecate in the water. Besides bacteria, feces contain protozoa and these can not be removed by disinfection. Meltwater can contain bacteria. You can remove these by filtering, boiling or disinfecting. Microfiltration is sufficient in most cases if you are 100% sure there are no viruses in the water (this is very difficult to rule out). Step 1 and 2 must be followed when in the tropics.

What do I apply first, sunscreen or DEET?

Apply sunscreen preferably 30 minutes before exposure to sunlight/UV rays and allow it to absorb for 20 minutes before applying the DEET product.

What does SPF 50 mean?

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. SPF 50 means that you can stay in the sun 50x longer before your skin turns red/burns than without sunscreen. Your skin type determines the length of time you can stay in the sun without being affected.

Which skin type do I have?

There are 4 skin types

Skin type 1
Very light skin, often freckles, red or light blonde hair and light eyes.
Easily burns in the sun and (hardly) tans.

Skin type 2
Light skin, blonde hair, light eyes.
Easily burns in the sun, tans very slowly.

Skin type 3
Lightly tinted skin, dark blonde to brown hair and quite dark eyes.                                                          Rarely burns in the sun, tans easily.

Skin type 4
A naturally tinted skin, dark hair and dark eyes.
Almost never burns in the sun, tans very easily.

How often do I need to apply sunscreen?

At least every 2 hours. More often when perspiring and after swimming or towel drying. Bear in mind that more frequent application does NOT increase the time you can stay in the sun!

How much do I need to apply?

About half a teaspoon for your face. You need about 4 tablespoons for your arms and legs, and another 2 tablespoons for your torso (front and back). If you only apply a thin layer, you will be less protected. For example, if you apply 50% too little of SPF25, you end up with SPF 5 protection. Always apply generously. It should feel as if you’ve used too much.

Why use Sun Protection Outdoor & Sea?
  • Protects from most jelly fish stings, corals and sea anemones.
  • Suitable for children.
  • Water resistent.
  • Clinically tested by dermatologists.
  • Contains antioxidant vitamine E
  • Panthenol nourishes and calms the skin.
Does a waterproof sunscreen work after swimming?

A waterproof sunscreen stays on a lot better in the water than a product that is not water resistant. But waterproof or water-resistant primarily means that the cream also protects in the water. It is necessary to reapply after swimming.

How long can you keep sunscreen?

Sunscreens should be used within 12 months of opening. As soon as you open the tube, it is exposed to air, dust and sand. Including bacteria. The longer the cream has been opened, the more the factor reduces. Also, try to keep your sunscreen out of the sun. To prevent getting sunburnt next summer or on your holidays by an old sunscreen, it’s better to dispose of any unused tubes at the end of the season.

Can I use sunscreen in combination with Care Plus® Anti-Insect?

Yes, we recommend first applying sunscreen, leaving this to absorb for 20 minutes and then using Care Plus® Anti-Insect.
