Anti insect Deet
The active substance DEET is effective for insect bites and also for ticks. DEET is most effective against (malaria) mosquitoes and horseflies, effective against ticks, and reasonably effective against large horseflies, gnats and midges.
The percentage of DEET determines the active duration of the insect-repellent product.
What is DEET?
DEET is the abbreviation of N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide. The name N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide was recently replaced by N,N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide, but both names are still in use. Care Plus® Anti-Insect Deet is available in the following percentages: 30%, 40% and 50%. The DEET percentage refers to the active duration of the insect-repellent substance.
One packaging unit is sufficient for 2 to 3 weeks daily use in accordance with the prescription. Care Plus® recommends a DEET percentage between 30% and 50%. It is important that the consumer understands that Care Plus® Anti-Insect Deet must be applied on all uncovered skin.
