Protection against mosquitoes
Warm weather means more mosquitoes. Whether you are at home, at work or on holiday. Those flying bloodsuckers always know where to find you. And if you are not being bitten, your children may be, with itchy bumps as a result.
Fortunately, there are measures you can take to prevent nuisance caused by mosquitoes and there is an Anti-Insect remedy with DEET . In addition, Care Plus® provides products that relieve itching because scratching bumps can leave ugly scars.
Prevent nuisance from mosquitoes
1) Check in and around the house for stagnant water.
Female mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water and the larvae grow here before they become mosquitoes. Not only in ponds, but also in hidden gutters, buckets, watering cans and rain barrels. When these types of puddles of water are nearby, more mosquitoes are attracted.
2) Place screens on windows and doors and keep doors closed as much as possible.
Mosquito nets are a very effective remedy against mosquitoes. The fine mesh prevents mosquitoes from entering a room and you can still ventilate. Naturally, it is important to place these screens everywhere and to keep them closed as much as possible.
3) Place a fan or air conditioning system in your room.
Mosquitoes do not fly very well, and with a bit of wind they are quickly off course. In addition, they do not like cold air. A fan or air conditioning system in your room can therefore reduce nuisance caused by mosquitoes.
3) Sleep under a mosquito net.
We can hear you thinking: we are not in the tropics though, are we? No, that’s right, but it is true that small climate changes can make it even more attractive for mosquitoes here. Alien species such as the tiger mosquito and the yellow fever mosquito have already been spotted in the Netherlands. A mosquito net provides protection against all types of mosquitoes and the great thing is that they won’t come close to your head, so you won’t be woken up by buzzing.
4) Wear protective clothing.
Of course, this is not always what you want because when the weather is nice, you prefer to wear a t-shirt and shorts. And who sleeps in pyjamas buttoned up to the neck in the middle of summer? However, very light clothing is available, which is well ventilated and comfortable to wear. So, you will still be protected against mosquitoes.
5) Use Care Plus® Anti-Insect.
You can apply Care Plus® Anti-Insect Natural on the uncovered skin and on the outside of your duvet cover. Mosquitoes don’t like this, and this prevents you from being bitten. Natural is suitable for children from 3 months. DEET is also a proven remedy that works well against mosquitoes.
