O.R.S. for better hydration
Prevent dehydration or dehydration with the O.R.S. bags of Care Plus ®. The bags are easy to use and promote moisture absorption during physical exertion, such as walking, cycling and mountain climbing. The package contains 10 O.R.S sachets with glucose-salt preparation that easily dissolve in water.
Dehydration often occurs during and after physical exertion (sports) at high temperatures. Excessive sweating or other things where a lot of moisture is lost can also lead to dehydration symptoms. Be alert and make sure there is always O.R.S. is at your fingertips. A combination of the right amounts of salts and glucose increases the absorption of water during physical exertion or when the moisture balance in your body is out of balance.

Supplement moisture, sugars and salts with O.R.S.
O.R.S. is used in dehydration to replenish the loss of water, sugars and salts. Water alone is often not enough. The intestines need sugars and salts to absorb enough moisture in the body. It is important that you not only use the O.R.S. solution, but also try to drink extra. Even if drinking is difficult, it is important to keep trying. Sometimes it helps to drink small amounts often because the chance that you will retain more fluid is greater.
O.R.S. stands for Oral Rehydration Salts and is a safe agent (when used according to the directions for use). People with poor kidney function or diabetes must take into account the amount of glucose and salt in O.R.S.

Usage
Dosage for children under 20 kg: Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in 200 ml potable water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved. Use a criterion of 10 ml per kg of body weight and administer every hour, for 4 to 6 hours.

Usage
Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in 100 ml potable water (do not use in combination with other liquids/drinks). Stir until the powder is completely dissolved.
For infants, we recommend administering a teaspoon of O.R.S. every 2-4 minutes. For children above 20 kg, we recommend Care Plus® O.R.S. with pomegranate/orange flavour.

Alternatives for ORS?
In the table you can see that cola or other drinks cannot simply be used as a substitute for ORS. There is too much difference in the composition, so these drinks work less well in replenishing what your body needs. For example, cola has too little salt, chicken stock has a lot of salt, but too little sugar.
So always use ORS if possible and only improvise with other drinks if you have nothing else.
