Maar ook in de winter en op wintersport kun je verbranden. Dat heeft te maken met zonnekracht en reflectie.<\/p>\n Hoe minder afstand uv-stralen hoeven af te leggen, hoe sterker ze zijn. Als de zon recht boven ons staat, is die afstand het kortst. In de zomer is dat tussen 12:00 en 15:00 uur. Hoger in de bergen is de zon dus ook krachtiger omdat de uv-stralen je eerder bereiken.<\/p>\n Wolken houden de straling tegen. Maar dunne wolken, zoals we die bij \u2018heiig weer\u2019 zien, juist weer niet. Goed om te weten: uv-straling wordt 10-20% sterker als het weerkaatst van zand of water. Bij verse sneeuw of vers ijs is dat zelfs 80-90%! Dus bescherm jezelf ook goed in de winter.<\/p>\n Elke zonnebrand heeft een factor: de Sun Protection Factor (SPF). Er is een eenvoudige regel voor het kiezen van jouw factor; hoe lichter je huid en hoe meer direct zonlicht, hoe hoger de factor. Als je een getinte huid hebt, kun je dus een lagere factor gebruiken. De anti-insect wil je hier bovenop aanbrengen. Vandaar dat wij aanraden om 20 tot 30 minuten na het aanbrengen van de zonnebrand de anti-insect aan te brengen. Let op, doe dit ook nooit rechtstreeks in de zon of op een zonverbrande huid. Niet gebruiken bij direct zonlicht.<\/strong><\/p>\n Bij een volledig minerale zonnebrand kan je gelijk de zon in. Deze zonnebrand vormt een laag boven op de huid die de zon reflecteert en zal niet in de huid trekken. Dan kan de anti-insect na het insmeren gelijk over de minerale zonnebrand worden aangebracht.<\/p>\n Het gebruik van zonnecr\u00e8me en anti-insect is echter alleen nodig in risico gebieden waar muggen overdag actief zijn. Dit is de Aedes mug ook wel bekend als de tijgermug, welke ziektes als gele koorts<\/a>, chigunguya<\/a>, dengue<\/a> en Zika<\/a> kan overbrengen. Daarnaast ook in gebieden waar teken actief zijn (meestal niet op een strand, wel in duingebieden).<\/p>\n Het is aan te raden om zoveel mogelijk bedekkende kleding te dragen, dit is ook beter om je te beschermen tegen de zon, en alleen de onbedekte huid in te smeren met anti-insect.<\/p>\n Anti-Insect is niet waterproof en zal na zwemmen en transpireren opnieuw aangebracht moeten worden. Als zonnebrand per ongeluk is ingeslikt, is het belangrijk om eerst te bepalen of het om een kind of volwassene gaat en of er symptomen zijn. Bij inslikken van zonnebrand is het belangrijk om: niet te laten braken, de mond te spoelen, en iets vetigs te eten te geven.
